The original White Reflective Grill Decal on LA County Fire Engine 73

Code R Decals & Graphics started under a large format printing company in March of 2007.

In February of 2007, Los Angeles County Fire Station 73 received their new 2006 KME Engine. The new Engine arrived and at the discretion of the 'A' Shift at Fire Station 73, a new idea was formed to put a decal on the front grill. Having access to the supplies and machinery, Nicholas DiFatta tried something new to add a little more to the Fire Engine. About 2 weeks after it was installed, Nick received a phone call from an Engineer at LA County Fire Station 82 in La Cañada. The craze started from there. Nick then began to receive orders from numerous LA County Fire Stations throughout the North LA County Region. Still under the printing company, Nick specialized in decals and developed a technique on installing the decals to the fronts of the grills, while keeping the rig in service.

Simply put, the grill was taken off and installed separately from the rig.

In September 2007, the company Nick worked for went through some ownership changes and Nick decided to take the decals solo. Code R Decals & Graphics was established September 1, 2007 by Nicholas DiFatta.

Nicholas DiFatta was a Certified Explorer for the Los Angeles County Fire Department for over 3 years. He moved on from the Explorers in April of 2008 after getting hired by Bowers Ambulance Company as an EMT.
He attended Paramedic School in the Spring of 2009 at Bakersfield College and is currently a California State Licensed Paramedic.

In May of 2012, Nicholas earned a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Business Law from California State University, Northridge.

In March of 2017, Nick became a Fire Fighter with the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
